The museum is committed to the 2 simple words “Never Forgotten.” We feel that it’s important to take time on this day each year to remember and reflect on the events of that tragic day with a small ceremony.
Each year the museum has a golf tournament to help raise money for, well, the museum! This annual event helps pay for the museum’s everyday little things, like cleaning supplies to the big things such as the recently installed energy efficient windows. It’s a great way to get together with friends and help us out.
This is an annual event dedicated to recognizing those brave firefighters from around the state of Kansas that paid the ultimate price serving their city, county, or township. Every year during the ceremony, each name on the wall is read, as a bell is rung, a flag is dipped, and a rose is placed at the base of the memorial wall in their memory. The public is always welcome to help us honor those that have paid the ultimate sacrifice.
